Chipped Tooth Tavern
May. 6th, 2019 07:55 pmThe Chipped Tooth Tavern is a place that doesn't have a menu. It serves beverages and food according to what is on hand at the time and hasn't run out. The main source of this is what has been ~liberated~ from merchants and vessels that trade with Amber. This place isn't the kind where royals will normally frequent unless they're dabbling in some honest to gods slumming. Or perhaps need something done way beyond the proper channels. It has been burned down, rebuilt, trashed and renovated so many times, it is almost as it has some sort regenerative blood running through its timbers. It has a legit reputation for not giving a care of who you are or what you want as long as you can pay your bill. Optimistic Ophelia runs the joint, and all its past incarnations. She's got about a dozen children and they all have a turn tending the bar. Tonight her string-bean third born son is slinging drinks with a perpetual cigarette tucked into the corner of his mouth and hairy forearms you could scrub pans with.
Moxon, if alcohol has yet to be distributed in a communal manner, is hunched with his back to the wall. Eyes on the door. Never without, well, 'something,' at present he's nursing a flask of something that smells like straight paint-thinner, but could well be homemade gin. Plenty of pine trees in Arden...
It is with more than a few colorful words that Remi makes his way into their secreted meeting place in the form of the Dredges own little tavern. The man muttering under his breath as he comes in something about wanting to string up and burn the bastard who designed the city streets and their varied paths.
Moxon *side-eyes* Remi. "Oi, at least the streets have names-- the fucking ocean *all looks the same,* you dingbat. Complain about navigatin' that, whydontcha'."
Dirk walks in and says "Hey badgerboogerbreath." He's got a very hard angry look on his face.
Maereina has the hood of her cloak up when she comes in. She glances about for Ruby and sees Dirk. She walks over toward him and stops when she sees his brothers. A slow breath is taken but she finally relaxes the hand that wants to grab her sword and walks over.
The words from Moxon have Remi's brow raising, "The sea be plenty fuckin easier, No one changes the bloody damn sea and how it looks. Well most no one, But these streets..I swear e'erytime I come back to this city shit be changed." His head giving a shake before he is looking over towards the arrival of Dirk and then Mae. The man seeming to tense slightly at the latters entrance given their last visit together.
Moxon taps his brow. "You just gotta pay attention, little man."
Maereina frowns when she finally stops near the brothers. At one time or another, she's been annoyed with all of them and now she's hanging out with them in a slum bar?
Ruby has sequestered a section of the place. While there's no real VIP section, the pushed together tables and chairs give enough of a clue that the section is meant for a certain group of people. A wild assortment of characters have already stopped in to make back alley deals, contracts and the like. They orbit the area like vultures but haven't tried to claim it yet. There's actually ~good~ drinks there. Stuff that the tavern would love to steal a few caskets of. Ruby comes out from behind the back room trying to clean her hands of something and makes her way to the table.
