The hole in the freighter nearby would make some interesting heat-vision for nearby Predators from other franchises. Touch alone, held just in mid air would give a tactile sense of warmth. Though the portal is masking much of this by the steady stream of chillaxing output.
A number of thick cables disappear into that breach. They seem to ~plug~ into the frame of the portal through sockets, like a power bar for electrical outlets. Some with a radius as big around as dinner plates, and some are much smaller to plug in cords suitable for small power tools. Adapters fit over the largest sockets where masses of mini-cords suckle at the teat of esoteric power. These ~adapters~ further multiplying into these lesser power cords look less awesome craft-wise than the Portal itself.
