The transit to Kitezh via overland route was arduous. Ruby insisted that Merrisol help. It's all for Amy after all. Despite the fact that Ruby made the initial promise entirely on her own to haul parts for her monstrous project, she's called in a favour.
"S'all for Ay-mah! Plus...blood."
It was a common refrain while she urged for Merrisol to keep up while she shifted the small convoy of extremely heavy parts. It was very, very important to keep up and stay close. Keeping abreast was fine and dandy. Just keep up and pull on those reinforced ropes, Mister.
What had started out as thick wooden pallettes on log-rollers...dragged by a team of nags (and two swole individuals)...and loaded with pieces of a large barrel had been finessed via the Pattern to sleds with runners of recycling chitin treads. And once Ruby had really gotten going and they were straining with their individual burders, these sleds had developed wheels equipped with free-spinning hubcaps and a much easier, albeit tough, pull.
The payload itself did not change in terms of dimension. Rather, it acquired a lacquer and a gradual etching along the spines of the pieces. Ruby had to concentrate on each individual cart at a time, and it wasn't rare where she'd curse at the perspiration getting in her eyes or her messing up some detail that had to be wiped clean and started anew.
